Michael Elmgreen was born in 1961 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Ingar Dragset was born in 1969 in Trodheim, Norway. They currently live in Berlin.

Elmgreen & Dragset’s work explores issues relating to contemporary modes of living and investigates how these are reflected in both the everyday designs that surround us and in our urban landscapes.

Elmgreen & Dragset were awarded the 2012 Fourth Plinth commission in London. Their upcoming projects include a solo show at The Submarine Wharf, a project space in Rotterdam harbour run by the Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum, and they have been selected to participate in the 3rd Singapore Biennial in 2011.

Major exhibitions include Celebrity, the One and the Many at ZKM, Karlsruhe, 2010; The Collectors at the Nordic and Danish Pavilions for the 53rd Venice Biennial, 2009; MUSAC, León, Spain, 2009; solo shows at the Serpentine Gallery, London, 2006; Tate Modern, London, 2004; The Power Plant, Toronto, 2006; Malmö Konsthall, 2007; Portikus, Frankfurt, 2003; and Kunsthalle Zürich, 2001.
