Dahn Vo

Dahn Vo was born in 1975. He lives and works in Berlin and Bangkok.

DanhVo explores the invisible boundaries between the public and the private, and the possible permeability between the two. His works undermine the institutional sphere (he curated an exhibition of works by well-known artists at his parents’ house in Copenhagen) as well as the private sphere (he has married and then divorced several people, adding their names to his own, without sharing a private romantic life).

Vo has degrees from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and the Städelschule in Frankfurt. He has exhibited his work at Artists Space, New York (2010), Kunsthalle Basel (2009), Stedelijk Museum(2008), the 8th Gwangju Biennial (South Korea 2010), the 6th Berlin Biennial (Berlin 2010), Reality Check (The National Gallery of Denmark 2008), and Manifesta 7 (Bolzano 2008).

In 2009 he was nominated for the prestigious Preis der Nationalgalerie für junge Kunst. In 2007, he was awarded the blauorange Kunstpreis der Deutschen Volksbanken und Raiffeisenbanken.
